Our team ranked 17 out of 95 in DBF competition 2017!
The AIAA through the Applied Aerodynamics, Aircraft Design, Design Engineering and Flight Test Technical Committees and the AIAA Foundation invites all university students to participate in the Cessna/Raytheon Missile Systems Student Design Build Fly competition. The contest will provide a real-world aircraft design experience for engineering students by giving them the opportunity to validate their analytic studies.\n
This year, 15 members including 6 of FYP students formed the HKUST aircraft model team to participate in the Design Build and Fly competition organized by American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the most influential aircraft model competition in the United States. It is the 5th time a HKUST team has participated in this competition alongside 90 teams from top universities all over the world. We ranked 17 out of 95 teams during the contest. It is the best result the team has ever achieved and the 2nd best among Asian team.
We also welcome everyone who is interested to participate in the model competition in 2018. You do not need an engineering background to participate! If you have a dream in aeronautics/aviation and if you want to participate in aircraft model competition, please don’t hesitate to come and chat with us!
